What sets the anterior approach apart
This is the same method, and the same doctor, that Georgian patients already choose: nothing about the surgery changes for an international patient, only the logistics around it.
Direct anterior approach, bikini incision
The joint is reached through the natural space between the muscles, without cutting muscle fibres. The incision is short and sits in the natural groin crease.
On your feet the same day
Most patients start walking within a few hours of surgery, and discharge usually happens within two days at most.
International training
Fellowships in the United States and Europe, an Anterior Hip Foundation travelling grant, and ongoing exchange with anterior-approach centres in Zurich, Paris, Brussels and London.
English and Russian spoken directly with the surgeon
Consultations, before and after surgery, happen in your language, directly with the doctor performing the operation, without a translator standing between you and your questions.

How it works
From first message to recovery
The process is the same for both audiences; only the first two steps differ.

Before travel
Fill in the form below and send your X-ray or MRI afterwards, by WhatsApp or email. No online form replaces a consultation or a diagnosis.

Online consultation
A consultation with the doctor, in English or Russian, to discuss the X-ray and whether surgery is the right step.

Day 1: arrival
Airport transfer to our partner hotel, Best Western Plus Batumi, about 300 metres from the clinic. If your flight lands in the morning, a same-day visit to the clinic is possible, to meet the doctor and see everything up close.

Day 2: work-up
A morning at the clinic for pre-operative lab tests and consultations, then back to the hotel. An interpreter is with you throughout.

Day 3: surgery
Admission and surgery in the morning. The hospital stay afterwards is usually one to two nights. At discharge you receive your prescription together with the outpatient medications, already purchased for you.

Remaining days
Back at the hotel, a rehabilitation specialist visits once a day to help you get moving and answer your questions. Most patients plan 7 to 10 days in Batumi in total, before the transfer back to the airport.

Practical questions
Travel and logistics
These questions apply mainly to a travelling patient.
Do I need a visa to come to Georgia?
Georgia has a liberal visa policy. Citizens of many countries can enter and stay visa-free for up to a year, and if a visa is required, most nationalities can apply online for an e-Visa without visiting an embassy. Separately, if you already hold a valid Schengen, US, UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, South Korean or Gulf Cooperation Council visa or residence permit, you can normally enter Georgia visa-free for up to 90 days regardless of your nationality. Check your exact case at evisa.gov.ge before booking travel.
Is airport transfer or accommodation arranged?
Yes. Airport transfer is included, and our partner hotel, Best Western Plus Batumi, is about 300 metres from the clinic, so help is close by throughout your recovery.
Is an interpreter available at the hospital?
Yes, an interpreter is with you at the hospital for the full stay.
How long should I plan to stay in Batumi?
Most travelling patients plan for 7 to 10 days in total: 1 to 2 nights at the clinic and the rest at the partner hotel nearby, which also allows the first follow-up visit to happen in person rather than online.
Do I need to arrange physiotherapy or medications myself after discharge?
No. A rehabilitation specialist visits you once a day at the hotel to help you get moving and answer your questions, and the outpatient medications you need after discharge are already purchased and handed to you together with your prescription.

The price depends on the implant, the condition of the joint and the length of hospital stay. We can give you an exact figure after reviewing your X-ray and an online consultation, not before.
